Sr. Engineering Manager, Media Intelligence

In this role, you will lead the Media Intelligence team of Senior Engineers and Data Scientists (mensches one and all). Our mission is to build a high quality and scalable ML platform to power the next generation of intelligent recommendations for Media Buying and insights. You will play a key role shaping the future of the platform and enabling effective collaboration between engineers and data scientists, leveraging a vast trove of data including historical performance, predictive analytics, and third party datasets. You will work closely with a dedicated Product Manager and Data Science leaders alongside adjacent teams in a collaborative culture focused on understanding and serving our users as we build the future of TV media buying. As we are growing quickly, you will hire and onboard new team members and define the growth roadmap for the highly cross functional team.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage highly complex AI/ML company deliverables while championing high performance standards through predictable delivery and engineering excellence.
• Participate in technical architecture discussions and peer code reviews.
• Grow and manage your team. Hire, onboard, and mentor new team members.
• Pair with product management and data science partners to define the product roadmap for your team and make good trade-offs between product delivery and sustaining engineering.
• Coordinate with other internal stakeholders (data science, product marketing, customer support, SRE) to help drive larger company initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager in a software development org.
• Strong communicator with excellent people skills to interact with various teams including product, design, data science, and platform teams.
• Experience managing, developing, testing, and iterating on user-facing machine learning models.
• Experience working directly with data science and research partners in delivering machine learning models.
• Familiarity and comfortable with key methods of evaluating models and ensuring they meet the needs of the user and the business.
• Significant experience using data and analytics to solve problems.
• Demonstrated success building and shipping software products in spite of market ambiguity or company challenges.
• Experience with our tech stack: Python, Postgres, Airflow, Redshift, Spark, etc.
