About the position

The Senior Engineering Manager for Supplier Engineering at Insulet plays a crucial role in leading the Supplier Engineering team within the Global Procurement and Supplier Development organization. This position focuses on executing sourcing strategies, improving component quality and cost, and managing the qualification and validation of tooling assets to support Insulet's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in precision component manufacturing and will be responsible for developing a talented team to meet current and future supplier manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team for the validation and qualification of purchased components and assemblies through the USAM assembly process.
  • Drives component improvements to minimize variation to support operational objectives for OEE and scrap goals.
  • Utilizes engineering principles to perform root cause analysis to resolve and implement corrections to component-related issues.
  • Builds the capability of others to assure successful project execution, including improving business process systems and providing effective coaching and feedback.
  • Advises team of supplier engineers and quality engineers in investigating and improving supplier processes and introducing new components to suppliers.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities to enhance the cost, quality, and delivery of purchased components.
  • Allocates resources, assigns priorities to tasks, and acts as an advisor to senior management in delivering value-added services for Engineering.
  • Develops robust and sustainable systems to track improvements across components.
  • Oversees change control associated with modifications to components.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years' work experience in a regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading and managing an engineering staff.

  • Six Sigma Process Improvement Experience/Certification preferred.
