About the position

The Sr. Engineer, Data Visualization position at Fanatics in San Mateo, California, is a critical role focused on developing and maintaining advanced reporting and data visualization solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating Report Services Documents, Dossiers, and complex grid and graph reports using MicroStrategy and Tableau. This role requires a deep understanding of data visualization principles and the ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights for business stakeholders. In addition to report development, the Sr. Engineer will design, create, and maintain MicroStrategy (MSTR) schema objects, including facts, attributes, hierarchies, and transformations. The role involves creating MSTR metrics using transformations to ensure that the data presented is both accurate and meaningful. The candidate will gather business intelligence (BI) reporting requirements by collaborating with BI product managers, business users, and data engineering teams to ensure that the reporting solutions meet the needs of the organization. The position also entails building data pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and writing new stored procedures while maintaining existing ones in Microsoft SQL Server. Furthermore, the Sr. Engineer will design and build ETL pipelines utilizing Amazon Redshift, ensuring efficient data processing and storage solutions. This role is essential for driving data-driven decision-making within the company and requires a blend of technical expertise and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Develop Report Services Documents, Dossiers, and complex grid and graph reports in MicroStrategy and Tableau.
• Design, create, and maintain MSTR schema objects including facts, attributes, hierarchies, and transformations.
• Create MSTR metrics using transformations.
• Gather BI reporting requirements and collaborate with BI product managers, business users, and data engineering teams.
• Build data pipelines using SSIS packages.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 1 year of experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer.
• 1 year of experience using MS SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, MicroStrategy, Tableau, MSTR schema objects, MSTR Report Services Documents, MSTR metrics with transformations, and Microsoft Excel.
