About the position

The Senior Environmental Project Manager (PM) / Program Manager (PGM) at KOMAN Government Solutions (KGS) is responsible for leading business operations in the Northeastern region, managing a team of 10-15 technical staff, and overseeing environmental investigation, remediation, and project management for federal clients. This hybrid position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a proven track record in environmental project management and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage federal contracts to ensure compliance with FAR, DFAR, and other federal requirements.
  • Manage all project activities including work planning, project reviews, quality control, invoicing, and staff performance reviews.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage complex environmental projects, ensuring collaboration among teams and timely delivery of results.
  • Mentor staff in client relationship management and facilitate problem resolution to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Manage the professional development of technical staff through mentorship and guidance in project management.
  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals for future projects.
  • Lead proposal development for environmental restoration projects, including scope definition and risk assessment.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance by overseeing the development and review of environmental documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering; Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Professional certification/registration such as PG, PE, PMP, or similar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in environmental restoration project and program management for federal agencies.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports.
  • Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with federal acquisition regulations and contract management.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and regulatory guidelines.
