About the position

The Sr. Epic Certified Systems Analyst - OpTime plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining EpicCare systems and databases to ensure their optimum performance. This position is responsible for managing complex IT projects and products to provide automated solutions that align with Inova Health System's business needs through the EpicCare solution. The analyst will facilitate Epic updates, new releases, and system enhancements, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed about project and team status. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication, as the analyst will need to initiate issues for resolution and escalate them to management in a timely manner. In this position, the analyst will perform a thorough analysis of new releases and assess their impact on existing workflows. They will define necessary modifications to application software or databases to enhance system functions. The analyst will manage all phases of testing and assist the Lead/Project Manager in project scoping and work effort. Additionally, they will conduct and participate in system technical and application reviews to evaluate feasibility, cost, and overall usefulness for Inova. Coordination of vendor demos, site visits, and reference calls will also be part of the responsibilities, along with making recommendations for team training programs and assisting in the development and implementation of training and mentoring activities for team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all phases of testing and assists Lead/Project Manager in work effort and project scoping.
  • Manages complex IT projects/products to provide automated solutions that meet Inova Health System's business needs using the EpicCare solution.
  • Initiates issues for resolution while escalating and communicating status to management in a timely manner.
  • Conducts and participates in system technical and application reviews to determine feasibility, cost and evaluate usefulness for Inova.
  • Coordinates vendor demos, site visits and reference calls.
  • Makes recommendations for team/analyst training programs and assists in the development and implementation of team member training/mentoring activities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in relevant field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience: 3 years of Epic build and implementation experience; 3 years of project management techniques in hospital or healthcare environments. Previous PeriOp experience preferred.
  • Certification: Epic OpTime certification required. Epic Anesthesia certification preferred.
