About the position

Motorola Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Event Planner to join our Customer Experiences and Events team. This role is pivotal in developing and executing a variety of events that align with our strategic sales objectives and enhance our brand presence across multiple industries. The Senior Event Planner will be responsible for managing all aspects of event planning, from initial strategy development to post-event analysis. This includes overseeing project scope, managing budgets, and ensuring successful execution of events ranging from trade shows and conferences to networking and hospitality events. In this position, you will take full accountability for the event lifecycle, which encompasses strategy development, RFP and contracting, planning, onsite execution, and post-show budget reconciliation. You will be tasked with creating detailed project plans, establishing event budgets, and setting critical timelines to ensure all events are executed flawlessly. Your role will also involve negotiating contracts with venues and third-party agencies, as well as fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments, including marketing, sales, and leadership. As a Senior Event Planner, you will utilize event technology such as Cvent to enhance the event experience and ensure operational efficiency. You will travel to event sites to oversee logistics and operations, ensuring that both sales teams and customers/partners are satisfied with the event experience. This position requires exceptional communication skills, as you will be presenting to various stakeholder groups and managing diverse teams throughout the planning process. Your ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, along with your project and budget management skills, will be critical to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage events and programs of all types and sizes, including exhibitions, conferences, and hospitality events.
  • Develop and implement project plans, event budgets, and critical timelines.
  • Negotiate and contract with venues and third-party agencies.
  • Lead collaboration with key contributors across various functional teams.
  • Oversee all event operations and logistics onsite to ensure satisfaction.
  • Implement appropriate event technology, such as Cvent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of proven corporate event management experience.
  • Prior budget management and negotiation experience.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to lead diverse internal and external groups through event planning coordination.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Experience with current event management technology, including Cvent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with C-level executives.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving skills.
