About the position

The Sr. Event Security and Safety Manager at The Pokémon Company International is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the physical security and safety of various consumer events, including Regional, International, and World Championships. This position requires extensive travel, with the expectation of attending 12 to 15 events annually, where the manager will serve as the primary contact for security operations and incident response. The role is integral to ensuring that all events are conducted safely and securely, aligning with the company's commitment to providing a positive experience for fans and participants alike. In this role, the manager will drive the end-to-end planning for security and safety across premier events in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. This includes managing and coordinating security plans in collaboration with event managers, reviewing assignments for security personnel, medical staff, and other safety resources. During events, the manager will lead security operations, oversee vendor coordination, and respond to any incidents that arise, working closely with emergency resources and internal teams. The position also involves conducting risk assessments, providing after-action reports, and ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards. The manager will act as a liaison between The Pokémon Company International, customers, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the event process. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and safety of Pokémon events, contributing to the overall success of the brand's public engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end planning for physical security and safety across all premier events in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania.
  • Manage and coordinate security plans in partnership with event managers, including review of guard, medical, and other safety personnel assignments.
  • Travel to each North American Regional Championships, each International Championships, and the World Championships, acting as event security lead overseeing security vendor and operations.
  • Manage event security and safety incident responses on site and lead coordination of escalated situations with security vendor, emergency resources, and internal teams.
  • Provide after-action reports for each premier event and escalate issues as needed to stakeholders.
  • Review and draft event security and safety manuals and processes.
  • Conduct cost and budget analysis for the annual security program of approximately 30 events.
  • Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Act as a liaison between TPCi, customers, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) to eleven (11) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of event security needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Training in CPR and other first aid responses is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Pokémon is a plus.
