About the position

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will play a critical role in the successful deployment and support of IntelliSep technology across various healthcare settings. This role reports directly to the Manager, Field Application Scientist, within the Commercial team, and involves close collaboration with laboratory stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of IntelliSep into clinical workflows. The FAS will serve as a key technical advisor and trainer, driving customer success from pre-sales through post-implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary technical resource during the pre-sales process, demonstrating the capabilities and benefits of IntelliSep technology to prospective clients.
  • Foster strong relationships with laboratory professionals and leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for IntelliSep.
  • Assist the sales team by delivering compelling presentations and demonstrations of IntelliSep technology during the sales process.
  • Support the discovery process to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions that address those needs.
  • Present lab-specific evidence and outcomes to lab leadership, addressing potential concerns related to implementation, validation, and impact on patient outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for lab tours and visits, gaining a deep understanding of the current state of each lab and its needs.
  • Perform individualized assessment of customer's personnel, organizational structure, workflow and maximization of equipment capabilities to design and develop tailored training.
  • Provide comprehensive training and support to laboratory stakeholders and operators, ensuring high competence and confidence in using IntelliSep.
  • Ensure the customer is properly prepared for validation and meeting milestones for the established implementation timeline and assess customer key operator performance and knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and support to ensure customer success, focusing on maximizing the clinical and operational value of IntelliSep.
  • Train colleagues on relevant process solutions, knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Medical Affairs teams to provide field insights that drive solution enhancements and innovation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine deployment strategies and customer support processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences field, preferably with a focus on molecular biology; an advanced degree is favored.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field application or clinical support role within the medical device or diagnostics industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, including pre-sales and implementation support.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technology implementations and provide expert guidance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in working with laboratory stakeholders and developing strong relationships with laboratory professionals.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies such as CAP, CLSI, CLIA, and familiarity with FDA-regulated technologies, along with a strong understanding of quality procedures and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with sepsis detection technologies or related diagnostic tools.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment within the medical products or diagnostics field.
