About the position

The Sr. Field Service Controls Engineer at Honeywell is a remote position focused on providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for industrial automation systems, particularly in conveyor systems. This role requires extensive travel throughout the Northeast US and occasionally nationwide, ensuring the successful implementation of material handling solutions for a diverse range of customers. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct customer training, and stay updated on industry trends to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, conveyors, palletizers, and robotics.
  • Provide advanced on-site support for Honeywell's material handling solutions, ensuring peak efficiency of customers' systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and project teams for smooth implementation and delivery of automation solutions.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and field service engineers to enhance their understanding and utilization of solutions.
  • Stay current with advancements in industrial automation and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in field service engineering, specializing in complex technical solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Industrial Automation technologies, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree or technical certification in a related field.
  • Expert-level problem-solving skills in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, with experience in conveyor systems, palletizing, and robotics.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to drive projects from start to finish.
  • Strong customer-first approach with the ability to build and maintain solid customer relationships.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills, especially in guiding field engineers or junior technical staff.
  • A continuous learning mindset, eager to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies.
