About the position

Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE offers a professional suite of services to a variety of clients in the life sciences industry, including those in pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, and genomics, as well as contract research organizations (CROs) and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs). Our comprehensive range of services includes laboratory consulting, real estate services, instrumentation repair and maintenance, full asset management, and more-covering the entire spectrum of life sciences facilities. With expertise across various life sciences categories, CBRE is a leader in managing highly-regulated spaces within the industry. In this role, you will perform advanced-level, scheduled, and unscheduled troubleshooting/services on specialty equipment, instruments, and systems specific to the pharmaceutical research & development industry. You will possess the in-depth technical knowledge required for performing complex, analytical service procedures, instrument qualifications, and calibration tasks. This position requires travel, including local and regional travel, primarily in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Your responsibilities will include installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and IQ/OQ/PQ services on multi-vendor analytical instruments such as Agilent, Waters, Shimadzu, Thermo, and Sciex at customer locations or in-house. You will diagnose and troubleshoot operational problems on lab equipment including GC, GC/MS, LC/MS (Single Quad and Triple Quad), ICPMS, HPLC/UPLC, and associated OEM chromatography software platforms. You will also be responsible for documenting daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures, as well as managing relationships with customers and training them on maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and IQ/OQ/PQ services on multi-vendor analytical instruments at customer locations or in-house.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operational problems on lab equipment including GC, GC/MS, LC/MS, ICPMS, and HPLC/UPLC.
  • Fix and resolve problems while performing unscheduled work as necessary.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment and initiate corrective action and documentation.
  • Reinstall, test, evaluate, calibrate, and maintain instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.
  • Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Manage relationships with customers and complete service reports on each service ticket completion.
  • Train customers and other service representatives on maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in the growth of the region and company.

Requirements

  • Must complete QMS training assigned to position title.
  • Must meet lawfully required customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access.
  • Ability to travel to various locations daily and interact with a broad range of clientele.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • 7+ years of field service experience is highly preferred.
  • Service knowledge of GC, HPLC/UPLC, GC/MS & LC/MS is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in science (chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar) preferred or High School Diploma or equivalent experience with lab experience required.
  • Knowledge of lab practices, standard concepts, and test procedures for analytical instruments.
