About the position

The Sr Field Service Engineer (IFF Systems) will oversee and maintain In Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) activities, managing UPX-29 ISEA projects. This role involves developing work breakdown structures, financial tracking, and submitting various reports. The engineer will also update laboratory drawings, maintain equipment, and ensure proper documentation of maintenance and testing activities. The position requires providing technical support for the AN/UPX-29(V) Interrogator System and interfacing with Navy personnel to recommend corrective actions. The role may involve physical demands such as climbing and lifting, and may require overtime or weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain ISEA activities and manage UPX-29 ISEA projects.
  • Develop work breakdown structures and track financials for projects.
  • Submit CDRLs including trip reports and monthly progress reports.
  • Update laboratory drawings to reflect configuration changes.
  • Maintain all equipment associated with laboratories, including those on antenna towers.
  • Document equipment maintenance and configuration changes in laboratory logbooks.
  • Schedule and monitor live IFF testing, software testing, and equipment grooms.
  • Monitor inventory of COMSEC assets within the laboratory.
  • Track Casualty Reports (CASREP) for IFF equipment and notify the Government Project Lead as needed.
  • Provide technical services for the AN/UPX-29(V) Interrogator System during various assessments and trials.
  • Interface with ships force department heads to provide status updates and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 12 years of experience with United States Navy Combat Systems.
  • NEC 1571(V06B) or equivalent AN/UPX-29(V) certification.
  • NEC 1572(V07B) or equivalent AIMS system Technician certification.
  • Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable fabrication training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Maritime Training (OSHA 1915).
  • Certified solder technician specializing in SMT, lead free and through hole.
  • Certified Quality Assurance Inspector.
  • Cable fabrication certification.
