About the position

As a Sr Field Service Technician - Fire Technician here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide technical expertise and support for our fire service operations. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire detection and ensuring the safety and security of our customers. Your strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills will be crucial in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. You will report directly to our Field Service Manager and you'll work out of our Grand Rapids, MI location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the safety and security of our customers by ensuring the proper functioning of fire detection systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing these systems to prevent potential fire hazards and protect lives and property.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fire detection
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to fire systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire systems
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers and field service technicians
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire service operations or a similar field
  • 3-5 years related Fire Alarm System experience including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and delivery of small jobs
  • NICET 1 or 2 certified, or able to qualify, test, and be certified within 90 days
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to customers and field service technicians

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Fire Technician certification or equivalent
  • Experience with Honeywell fire detection systems
  • Strong customer focus and ability to build and maintain relationships
