About the position

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst at The Walt Disney Company plays a crucial role in the Financial Reporting organization within the Controllership. This position is responsible for leading and facilitating financial reporting processes, including the preparation of financial statements and analysis for SEC reporting and segment management reporting. The role involves supporting the Ticketing Evolution Project, enhancing pricing and yield management capabilities, and automating the ticket revenue recognition process.

Responsibilities

• Support the DLR Ticketing Evolution Project (TEP3) by providing accounting support and leadership.
• Document accounting and reporting requirements for the new revenue recognition system.
• Develop test scripts and participate in testing for the new system.
• Assist in the ongoing maintenance of admissions revenue recognition systems through system testing and product configuration.
• Prepare P&L and Balance Sheet analysis for Segment and Corporate executives during monthly/quarterly close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX guidelines, including account reconciliations and journal entries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, and/or Management.
• Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Very strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
• Strong writing and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to prepare and present information to support decision making.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Master of Accountancy or MBA preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
• Proactive and creative in problem-solving and presenting financial data.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and provides solutions.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• SAP system experience desired.
