About the position

The Senior Finance Analyst, Plant FP&A will provide financial support to the Willard and Ashland manufacturing facilities, focusing on enhancing profitability through detailed analysis of plant costs. This role involves creating a strong controls environment, accurately representing plant costs, and identifying opportunities for cost improvement. The analyst will leverage finance tools and processes to influence operations leadership and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standard costs including bill of material, item costs, labor routings, and overhead assignments.
  • Prepare and process month-end and year-end journals, scorecards, and reports accurately.
  • Communicate daily and weekly KPI, labor, and plant process reporting.
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, overhead, and manufacturing methods for their impact on production costs.
  • Evaluate and report manufacturing efficiency variances to assist managers in corrective actions.
  • Estimate, track, and report costs associated with new product development and contract manufacturing partners.
  • Utilize FP&A tools to analyze plant profitability and identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting methods and procedures.
  • Support cost savings programs to drive year-over-year productivity improvements.
  • Review control procedures over accounting and financial activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-5 years of direct plant manufacturing experience preferred; relevant experience considered.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Understanding of process flows and standard cost accounting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookup functions.
  • Ability to drive process improvement.
  • SAP experience preferred.

  • Power BI creation and interpretation preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
