About the position

The Senior Finance Analyst, Plant FP&A will provide financial support to the Willard and Ashland manufacturing facilities, focusing on enhancing profitability through detailed analysis of plant costs. This role involves creating a strong controls environment, accurately representing plant costs, and identifying opportunities for cost improvement. The analyst will leverage finance tools and processes to influence operations leadership and support the overall financial health of the manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure the accuracy of standard costs including bill of material, item costs, labor routings, labor rates, and overhead assignments.
  • Prepare, process, and ensure accuracy of month-end and year-end journals, scorecards, and reports.
  • Communicate daily and weekly KPI, labor, and plant process reporting.
  • Analyze and model changes in product design, raw materials, overhead, and manufacturing methods for their impact on production costs.
  • Evaluate and report manufacturing efficiency variances to assist managers in creating corrective action assignments, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Estimate, track, and report costs associated with new product development and contract manufacturing partners.
  • Utilize FP&A tools to provide analysis on plant profitability, production SKU mix, cost savings opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting methods and procedures.
  • Support cost savings programs aimed at driving year-over-year productivity improvements.
  • Review control procedures over accounting and financial activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-5 years of direct plant manufacturing experience preferred; relevant experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Understanding of process flows and standard cost accounting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookup functions.
  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Ability to drive process improvement and prioritize tasks independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
