About the position
S&B is actively searching for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of general accepted accounting principles and must possess the ability to independently manage, review, and/or complete account reconciliations and enter journal entries into the accounting system. Utilize financial analysis expertise to ensure accuracy & completeness of financial statements and internal reports. Responsibilities
- Completes preparation or review of balance sheet/partners' capital account reconciliations as assigned.
- Collaborates with other areas, including but not limited to, Project Accounting, Project Controls, Treasury, and FP&A to promote cross-functional success.
- Supports the review, evaluation, and implementation of accounting systems, policies, controls, and procedures.
- Ensures deadlines for accounting close are met and needed reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reviews and assists with financial statements and related reports, including but not limited to, balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Understands key business drivers to effectively communicate the 'business story.'
- Analyzes financial performance against trends.
- Assists in training of accounting staff.
- Lead special projects, financial audits, and initiatives as required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field is required.
- 7 - 9 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field.
- Public accounting firm and/or private equity firm experience a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Oracle and/or OneStream experience a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field.
