About the position

The Sr. Financial Analyst will support the monthly financial review process by leveraging financial data and metrics to provide insights to Advertising's Finance leadership. This role involves collaborating with various teams to understand business drivers and delivering clear insights to finance leaders, contributing to the growth of Amazon's advertising revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Support month end close process including variance analysis between forecast and actual revenue for finance and business leadership
  • Conduct deep-dives and ad hoc financial analyses to understand revenue and expense drivers and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Own consolidation efforts on product and partner facing initiatives
  • Drive the discovery of new metrics that tie the Advertising and Stores businesses together

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
