About the position

The Sr Financial Analyst role within Amazon Grocery Logistics' FP&A team is designed for a proactive individual who will play a crucial part in influencing the strategic direction of the business. This position focuses on financial planning and analysis for fulfillment operations across Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and Grocery Partnerships. The analyst will develop financial models, streamline reporting processes, and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance decision-making and drive profitability while improving customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key FP&A partner working directly with Grocery Operations finance and business teams to provide financial information and support.
  • Own the consolidation, analyses, and reporting on all of US Grocery Operations.
  • Develop high quality, data-driven financial analyses that drive business insights and support informed decision-making by company executives.
  • Partner with stakeholders including Operations, Accounting, and Finance Technology to identify opportunities and business requirements for financial systems, process improvement, and technology innovation/automation.
  • Lead analytical support for ad-hoc/cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reviews.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience.
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • Knowledge of Tableau.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
