About the position

The Sr. Financial Analyst in FP&A at The GEO Group, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the planning, preparation, and analysis of the company's annual budget and forecasts. This position involves summarizing financial analyses in reports for senior management and operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with visibility across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Assists all aspects of the budget & forecasting processes, developing and coordinating detailed checklists to meet deadlines across all business units.
  • Helps prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including data input, tracking user submissions, creating reports, and making recommendations based on analysis.
  • Ensures integrity and accuracy of data within the Hyperion database.
  • Assists in administration of Hyperion Planning Security and design architecture.
  • Leads overhead cost analysis and prepares monthly variance reports with findings by collaborating with all departments.
  • Develops, prepares, and analyzes financial reports based on actual, forecast, and budget data.
  • Researches variances utilizing software platforms to understand certain accounts and/or variances, making recommendations accordingly.
  • Compares monthly financial performance against budget and/or forecast, investigating variances and communicating findings to management.
  • Assists facilities in budget preparation as needed, preparing budget data and justification information as required.
  • Documents processes and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Prepares weekly reporting dashboard and ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; CPA, CFA, or master's degree in business preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) roles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required, along with experience with FP&A related ERP platforms (Hyperion planning/essbase preferred).
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and orally) to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to plan for, prioritize, manage, and execute work assignments within expected performance parameters and timelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Familiarity with government contracting and compliance regulations.
