About the position

As a Senior Financial Analyst in Investor Relations at BILL, you will play a crucial role in supporting the investor relations team with essential research, analysis, and presentation projects. This newly-created position is designed to enhance the team's capabilities in managing relationships with institutional investors and research analysts, as well as developing investor-focused communication strategies. You will work closely with senior leaders across the company to ensure that the investor relations function is aligned with the overall business strategy and objectives. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the analyst consensus model, studying and analyzing sell-side analysts' notes and models on BILL and other companies in the industry, and highlighting significant insights. You will conduct peer and company analysis, developing financial models that include performance metrics and valuation analysis. Additionally, you will create a framework for regularly reporting on significant events, strategies, and financial performance of peers, which will involve summarizing news and analyst notes in a daily email. In this role, you will also assist in the preparation of earnings materials, including script writing and Q&A development, and create strategic analysis and slides for quarterly investor decks and dedicated events related to shareholders and analysts. You will be responsible for developing ESG roadshow materials and summarizing investors' and rating agencies' views on various ESG items. Collaboration with corporate communications, SEC accounting, and legal teams will be essential to ensure that all external-facing content is reviewed through an investor lens. Your ability to effectively summarize and communicate key findings in a clear and concise manner will be critical to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support the investor relations team with important research, analysis, and presentation projects.
  • Maintain the analyst consensus model and analyze sell-side analysts' notes and models on BILL and other companies.
  • Conduct peer and company analysis, including development of financial models and valuation analysis.
  • Develop a framework for reporting on peers' significant events and financial performance.
  • Assist with analytical and communications building blocks for earnings, including script writing and Q&A development.
  • Create content and slides for quarterly investor decks and earnings materials.
  • Develop ESG roadshow materials and summarize investors' views on ESG items.
  • Collaborate with corporate communications, SEC accounting, and legal teams to review external content from an investor perspective.
  • Summarize and communicate key findings in written, verbal, and presentation forms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related professional experience in investment banking, sell-side equity research, buy-side equity research, or corporate finance.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation development).
  • Extensive experience reviewing and summarizing companies' SEC filings and investor presentations.
  • Substantial experience building valuation and financial statement models.
  • Ability to summarize high-level points for executive-level communication while understanding underlying details.
  • Genuine interest in investors' perspectives on companies and industries.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive, proactive work ethic and ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple responsibilities with urgency.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or CFA certification is a plus.
  • Experience with ESG analysis is a plus.
