About the position

At AMD, we are committed to transforming lives through our technology, and as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Global Operations Finance team. This position is designed for an experienced finance analyst who will engage directly with the Global Operations business unit and the Segment Business Units. Your primary focus will be on managing the costs associated with inventory and global manufacturing processes, which are essential for achieving the company's revenue, margin, supply chain, and operating expense targets. In this role, you will maintain financial models that support quarterly, annual, and long-range planning for Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold. You will also be responsible for supporting the intra-quarter forecast and outlook process, driving executive presentations for all financial-related inputs, and supporting Inventory Standards costing. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you provide monthly reports for executive management, compile inventory reconciliations, and conduct spend analysis. Additionally, you will be expected to deliver ad hoc analysis, reporting, and projects efficiently upon request. The ideal candidate for this position should be a self-starter with a results-driven approach, a strong sense of teamwork, and a positive outlook. Clear and confident executive communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with various stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial models used to support driving quarterly, annual, and long-range planning for Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold.
  • Support intra-quarter forecast/outlook process.
  • Help drive executive presentations for all financial-related inputs.
  • Support Inventory Standards costing.
  • Provide support for monthly reports for executive management.
  • Compile inventory reconciliations.
  • Support spend analysis.
  • Provide supporting schedules for Corp accounting.
  • Efficiently deliver Ad Hoc analysis, reporting, and projects on request.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong financial modeling skills is required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills required to work on a wide range of initiatives.
  • Good understanding of financial concepts and general understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Excellent understanding of/or skills with financial planning & reporting systems.
  • SAP experience is preferable.
  • SQL, Data mining, and database management skills would be helpful.
  • Prior experience in supporting global manufacturing processes is a plus as well as experience in working with global cross-functional teams.
  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point is preferred.
