About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst is a pivotal member of the finance and operations team at Intapp, specifically supporting the Services and Customer Success & Support business units. This role is integral to managing the organization's budgeting system, policies, and processes, and involves close collaboration with department budget owners to create and monitor operating budgets. The Senior Financial Analyst is accountable for preparing and providing comprehensive reports and analyses to senior management and the executive committee, ensuring that financial insights are effectively communicated and utilized in decision-making processes. Under the supervision of the Director of FP&A, this position is expected to identify areas for improvement in budgeting and financial analysis, taking the initiative to implement and manage processes that support Intapp's growth objectives. In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst will develop and maintain templates and policies related to budget management for the Services and Customer Success & Support business units. They will participate in monthly reviews of budget versus actuals, gathering, documenting, and analyzing budget variances, and providing cause narratives and summaries for executive presentations. Ensuring compliance with current budget and spending policies is crucial, and the analyst will propose improved policies and systems regarding spending guidelines, cost savings, cost allocation, annual planning, and month-end close. Additionally, the analyst will design and build financial models to support business decisions, utilizing historical data and projected results based on trend assessments. They will also be responsible for delivering end-to-end reporting solutions for clients, which includes KPI/metric selection, back-end data solutions, and visualization dashboards. Collaboration across functions is essential, as the Senior Financial Analyst will need to understand the drivers of trends, clearly communicate actionable insights from data-driven analyses, and make recommendations for key business decisions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent financial modeling skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain templates and policies related to budget management for Services and Customer Success & Support business units.
  • Participate in monthly reviews of budget vs actuals, gathering, documenting, and analyzing budget variances.
  • Provide cause narratives and summaries for executive presentations regarding budget variances.
  • Ensure compliance with current budget and spending policies, proposing improved policies and systems.
  • Design and build financial models to support business decisions, including historical data and projected results based on trend assessments.
  • Deliver end-to-end reporting solutions for clients, including KPI/metric selection and visualization dashboards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand drivers of trends and communicate actionable insights from data-driven analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with extensive quantitative coursework in economics, finance, statistics, etc.
  • 3 - 5 years of budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, and financial systems work experience.
  • Experience in Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or subscription recurring revenue with an understanding of how a services organization operates.
  • Prior experience building, maintaining, and adapting company financial models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Excellent financial/business modeling skills, with expertise in Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, navigate, and explain complex financial models.
  • Proven track record of achievement, self-motivation, initiative, and integrity.
  • Highly productive and efficient, able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively consistent with Intapp values.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Netsuite, Adaptive, Salesforce, Aviso, PowerPoint, and similar systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL, with experience in financial systems integration.
