About the position

The Sr Financial Analyst position at Graphic Packaging International is responsible for supporting the Paperboard Manufacturing Facility Controller and the West Monroe operations team. This role focuses on ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, conducting in-depth analysis of actual and forecasted results, and engaging in various facility projects and accounting functions. The analyst will play a crucial role in minimizing manufacturing costs and aligning business operations with financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary lead for Fixed Cost Reporting & Analysis for the West Monroe Paperboard Manufacturing Facility.
  • Provide timely and accurate cost analysis and financial advice to facility management.
  • Participate in the monthly closing process for divisional financial reporting and facility cost control.
  • Prepare monthly and full year fixed cost forecasts, understanding key issues affecting financial performance.
  • Ensure the application of established financial controls and maintenance of financial policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, providing analysis and interpretation of financial data.
  • Conduct physical inventory observations and participate in fixed asset verification.
  • Prepare annual outage reporting and present status to operations.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field required.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting operations.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of interrelationships between Finance and other departments.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with detailed cost analysis, planning, and forecasting.
  • Comfortable with accounting and operational systems, preferably SAP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
