The Sr. Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the company, performing a variety of accounting duties that require independent judgment and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures. This position is integral to the financial health of the organization, particularly within the manufacturing sector, where the analyst will handle confidential data and present analytical findings to senior management. The role demands a strong focus on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, particularly in the areas of inventory, fixed assets, and general accounting, ensuring that all financial practices adhere to regulatory standards. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, as well as posting entries to specified accounts. A key responsibility includes determining product costs for accuracy on closed jobs and preparing and analyzing inventory reserves. The analyst will maintain accurate inventory valuations and review cycle count adjustments, while also analyzing and investigating production cost variances. Additionally, the role involves preparing various reports for the company's external auditors and assisting in the closing of the general ledger for each period, which includes preparing cost reports for management. The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide analytical support to the operations team, establishing work center labor, machine, and overhead rates as necessary. The position also requires the preparation of weekly and monthly managerial and cost accounting reports for management review, participation in the annual budget process, and management of fixed asset inventory. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic role that requires adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
