About the position

As a Senior Financial Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, you will play a crucial role in the coordination of the IT budget, establishing processes, and communicating effectively with IT Leadership. This position requires a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, and consulting skills. You will be expected to provide key financial strategies and operational guidance that align with the overall strategic initiatives of the organization. Your expertise in financial matters, including accounting, expense management, budgeting, capital allocation, and return on investment, will be invaluable as you provide financial advice to management. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and communication of the IT Group budget, further developing internal budget and reporting processes to a mature state. You will lead financial briefings for business lines, engaging with both internal and external partners. Innovation and experimentation will be key components of your responsibilities, as you continuously seek opportunities for improvement in existing processes and reports. You will independently perform moderate to complex variance analysis of financial data, produce and analyze project and financial reports for assigned business divisions, and conduct financial modeling to assess cost impacts. Responsibilities

  • Provide key financial strategies and operational guidance that align with the overall strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a knowledge source in financial matters related to accounting, expense, budget, capital, and return on investment while providing financial advice to management.
  • Assist in the coordination, preparation, and communication of the IT Group budget.
  • Further develop internal budget and reporting processes to a mature state.
  • Lead business line financial briefings to internal and external partners.
  • Innovate and experiment to continuously find opportunities for improvement in existing processes and reports.
  • Independently provide and perform moderate to complex variance analysis of financial data.
  • Produce and analyze project and financial reports for assigned business divisions.
  • Perform financial modeling to figure out cost impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 or more years of related experience in financial analysis for Sr. Financial Analyst role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in visualization software such as Tableau.
  • Experience with Workday tooling and reporting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, modeling, and development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
