About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst at Party City Holdings Inc. (PCHI) plays a crucial role in providing planning and analysis support specifically for the Amscan Wholesale and Manufacturing operations. This position is integral to the financial health of the company, as it involves developing processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms that facilitate executive decision-making. The analyst will engage in complex data analytics aimed at driving continuous improvement in business processes, ensuring that financial data is maintained in consistent formats, and ultimately enhancing business performance. In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst will be tasked with revamping budget and forecast models to streamline processes, thereby increasing efficiency and productivity. Timeliness and accuracy in budget and forecast consolidation are paramount, as is the ability to provide insightful sales, margin, and expense variance analysis along with key driver commentary. The analyst will also partner with Supply Chain and Distribution Center operations to monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain costs, inventory levels, and distribution efficiency. Moreover, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for establishing and reporting on key business performance metrics, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and actively participating in problem-solving initiatives. This includes conducting root cause analysis and gap analysis, as well as developing and implementing recommendations for process enhancements. The role also requires supporting senior management with ad hoc reporting and analysis, making it essential for the analyst to possess strong analytical skills and a high level of business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Help ensure financial data is maintained in consistent formats and helps drive improved business performance.
  • Help revamp budget/forecast models to streamline processes for greater efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate budgets and forecast consolidation.
  • Provide sales, margin and expense variance analysis and key driver commentary.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and DC operations to monitor and report on KPIs related to supply chain costs, inventory levels and distribution efficiency.
  • Help report and establish key business performance metrics and improvements in the monthly reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of processes, streamline collection, use and presentation of data.
  • Analyze current business and system processes for potential areas of improvement.
  • Actively participate in problem solving initiatives to determine root cause, gap analysis, along with the development and implementation of process improvement recommendations.
  • Support Senior Management with ad hoc reporting and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (MBA preferred), OR equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years' experience in a FP&A role
  • Strong working knowledge of Financial Statements (P&L/Balance Sheet/ Cash Flows)
  • Proficient in using multiple financial software (e.g. Hyperion, Excel, BPCS)
  • Strong Excel modeling skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with a curiosity that challenges status quo, actively seeks new experiences, knowledge and challenges.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability to learn company systems/tools and create process efficiencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams/projects and ad hoc requests with tight timelines.
  • Strong Collaborator who demonstrates ability to influence beyond scope of position.
