About the position

AMC Networks is home to many of the greatest stories and characters in TV and film and the premier destination for passionate and engaged fan communities around the world. We create and curate celebrated series and films across distinct brands and make them available to audiences everywhere. Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, IFC, Sundance TV and WE tv; and film distribution labels IFC Films and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business. We are currently seeking a Sr Financial Analyst to join our finance team based in our New York, New York headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of detailed budgets and long-range plans with corresponding reports for senior management and presentation decks.
  • Partner with multiple lines of business to develop detailed assumptions for the submissions.
  • Manage ongoing film updates in our financial systems (incl. new revenue deals, film ultimate's, acquisitions, exploitation dates, strategies) and prepare corresponding schedules, impact analysis for forecast submissions and senior management team.
  • Manage the month end close reporting, analyze results versus forecast, budget and prior year and provide commentary to senior management.
  • Manage historical performance trend analysis, which serve as base in preparing rolling forecasts, support budget and long-range plan as well as comps for future title acquisitions.
  • Continually review finance processes and reporting to improve overall efficiency and accuracy of the finance function.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and financial analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in working in the media and entertainment industry is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve and effectively prioritize one's workload
