About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst at Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) plays a crucial role in the finance department, performing a variety of accounting duties that require independent judgment and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This position is responsible for handling confidential data and requires the ability to analyze and present financial information to senior management within the plant and division. The analyst will ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations in areas such as inventory, fixed assets, and general accounting, which is critical for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting. In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst will prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and posting entries to specified accounts. They will determine product costs for accuracy on closed jobs and prepare and analyze inventory reserves. Maintaining accurate inventory valuation and reviewing cycle count adjustments are also key responsibilities. The analyst will analyze and investigate production cost variances and prepare various reports for the company's external auditors. Additionally, they will assist in closing the general ledger for each period and prepare cost reports for management review. The position also involves providing analytical support to the operations team, establishing work center labor, machine, and overhead rates when necessary, and preparing weekly and monthly managerial and cost accounting reports for management review. Participation in the annual budget process and managing fixed asset inventory are also part of the job. The Senior Financial Analyst will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function within the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience
  • B.S./B.A. degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Familiarity with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with leadership and collaborate effectively
  • Resilient and persistent in attaining necessary information to complete tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
