About the position

The Financial Analyst 3 for Yale Medicine is responsible for providing financial information through analysis and reporting. This role involves identifying risks and trends that enable leadership to make informed decisions and recommending improvements to systems, methods, practices, policies, and procedures based on thorough information review.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized technical analysis for financial modeling and forecasting to determine present and future financial performance.
• Organizes information from various sources to establish data banks for future plans and forecasts.
• Guides and collaborates with management to prepare and present recommendations regarding financial plans and operating forecasts.
• Analyzes and synthesizes information to design and create accurate and timely financial reports.
• Influences and designs methods to improve financial practices, processes, and systems.
• Translates department finance strategies into actionable goals and identifies potential financial opportunities and risks.
• Establishes and maintains strong internal controls to ensure effective resource use and compliance with regulations.
• Mentors, leads, and supervises staff as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance.
• Six years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated application of financial, accounting, and economic concepts.
• Ability to work with financial information and multiple financial systems.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with database query tools and proficiency in Excel.
• Working knowledge of financial and accounting principles in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to embrace change and solve complex issues.
