About the position

The Sr Financial Business Systems Analyst at Cedars-Sinai is responsible for supporting finance system operations related to Oracle Cloud ERP and other business systems. This role involves complex data reporting, coding, and analytics, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial data management across the health system. The analyst will engage with various departments and affiliate partners to enhance decision-making processes through effective data analysis and system support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all internal finance applications.
  • Manually extract, process, and load data for finance databases.
  • Monitor and update all automated file interfaces, validating data loads for accuracy.
  • Support and monitor all servers, databases, and applications assigned to the department.
  • Analyze, plan, design, and implement major projects assigned to the department.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to project members.
  • Support technology solutions within the Finance areas.
  • Implement major projects from different departments throughout the health system.
  • Attend project meetings and participate in decision-making regarding data quality and accessibility.
  • Provide system monitoring reports to management as determined by the department manager.
  • Train department staff on various subjects as determined by the department manager.
  • Design and build custom tools, interfaces, and applications to improve departmental productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business information systems, computer science, or a relevant major required.
  • Master's degree in business administration, management information systems, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in managing Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of financial analyst/data analytics experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • SQL - Intermediate/Advanced skillset required.
  • Experience working with MS Access required.
  • Microsoft .NET Visual Basic or C experience preferred.
  • Server Management experience is preferred.
  • Healthcare background preferred.
  • Oracle PL/SQL knowledge is optional.
  • Familiarity with ETL operations required.
  • Experience with SQL Tools like Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, and Benthnic Golden.
  • Familiarity with Reporting Tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports.
  • Familiarity with BRD (Business Requirement Document) and Functional Specs.
  • Familiarity or experience with Epic/Clarity preferred.
