About the position

The Senior Financial Data Analyst position at Vaco is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data-savvy financial analyst or data analyst who possesses a deep understanding of finance. This role is based in East Los Angeles and reports directly to the VP of Finance. The primary responsibility of the Senior Financial Data Analyst will be to analyze large datasets, conduct trend analysis, and work with SQL databases to elevate processes and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have the ability to present findings to executives effectively. In this role, the Senior Financial Data Analyst will be tasked with creating, maintaining, and verifying data integrity, as well as ensuring process efficiencies and related reporting. The analyst will analyze and clean up data to resolve any disparities, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the data used by finance and accounting teams. This position will also involve loading, changing, and extracting data from multiple sources to support financial analysis and reporting. The Senior Financial Data Analyst will provide insights and recommendations through data utilization, assist with trend forecasts, risk assessments, and financial projections, and analyze revenue and cost data to create margin analysis for reporting purposes. Additionally, the analyst will support budgeting, forecasting, planning, and resource allocation, prepare data visualizations, and create dashboards to communicate findings effectively. The role also includes conducting cost-benefit analyses and analyzing return on investment (ROI) to support strategic initiatives with financial evaluations. The company operates on a unique business model and is in a growth phase, with over 100 locations and a series C funding round. Responsibilities

  • Create, upkeep, and verify data integrity, process efficiencies, and related reporting
  • Analyze and clean up data to resolve disparities, and verify data integrity, reliability, and accuracy
  • Load, change, and take data from multiple areas into our database to be used by finance and accounting teams
  • Provide insights and recommendations through data utilization
  • Assist with trend forecasts, risk assessment, and financial projections
  • Analyze revenue and cost data to create margin analysis for reporting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, planning, and resource allocation
  • Prepare data visualization and create dashboards
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and analyze ROI
  • Support strategic initiatives with financial evaluations
  • Maintain accuracy and organization of data
  • Support design of ERP solutions and integrations to maintain data integrity and consistency
  • Act as a solutions design and architecture lead while looking for ways to optimize platforms
  • Outline and maintain compliance around governance policies for the company's systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or related degree
  • 4+ years of experience in financial analysis or data analysis
  • Proficient in SQL and Salesforce
  • Experience with data visualization software is a plus

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Alteryx
  • Familiarity with Power BI and Tableau
  • Strong executive presentation skills
