About the position

As a Senior Financial Data Analyst within the Shipboard Financial Analytics group, you will lead efforts to enhance Carnival Cruise Line's financial and operational performance. This senior role involves providing advanced technical guidance, strategic analytical support, and leadership to shipboard financial and operational teams. You will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated data warehousing and reporting solutions, primarily using Power BI and Tableau, to empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this position, you will lead the development of complex financial data models, dashboards, and reports that support strategic initiatives and operational decisions. Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data through rigorous validation processes and ongoing system maintenance will be a key responsibility. You will manage and oversee special projects and ad hoc analysis, ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational objectives. Additionally, you will focus on self-improvement while developing other team members, promoting an environment of teamwork and high professional standards. Your role will also involve driving the continuous improvement of data management practices, including automation and process optimization, to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy. Effective communication between finance and other departments will be crucial, fostering collaboration and a comprehensive understanding of financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of complex financial data models, dashboards, and reports that support strategic initiatives and operational decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in financial data analysis or a related field.
  • Strong data visualization skills and experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar software.
  • Understanding of Office 365 capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in cruise industry or hospitality focusing on operational and/or financial data analytics.
  • Working knowledge of SAS, R or similar statistical software.
  • Working knowledge of Power Automate or similar robotic process automation tools.
