About the position

The Senior FP&A Analyst, LATAM Local Markets (Temporary) position at Shiseido is a critical role that reports directly to the Executive Finance Director. This position is fully responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the Latin American Local Markets business. The incumbent will be accountable for financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, reporting, and internal controls. This includes supporting the development of a comprehensive financial and operational strategy, establishing metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. In this role, the Senior FP&A Analyst will prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the group's Financial Management, adhering to the group's financial calendar. The analyst will provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of the division's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted, and strategic planning results. This analysis is crucial for facilitating decision-making aimed at achieving the budget and strategic plan. The analyst will also assist in the quarterly budget preparation process, collaborating with various departments to ensure submissions are accurate and timely. The position requires the maintenance and development of various financial models and standard templates that are distributed for use by all Finance team members during the planning processes. The Senior FP&A Analyst will demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, applying this knowledge effectively in their work. During the monthly close process, the analyst will prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, and prepare financial statements in coordination with both internal and external accounting staff. They will take the lead on ensuring accurate and timely reporting during the month-end closing process, monitoring and reviewing accounting and related systems reports for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, the analyst will fulfill ad-hoc analysis requests from Finance and other internal teams, ensuring that all financial activities align with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the group's Financial Management.
  • Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting & analysis of the division's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted, and strategic planning results.
  • Assist in quarterly budget preparation with various departments and submit them to the Executive Finance Director.
  • Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates for use by all of Finance during planning processes.
  • Lead Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for the business unit.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, and prepare statements in coordination with accounting staff during the monthly close process.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related systems reports for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Analyze monthly reporting and inform the Regional Sales Manager/Executive Finance Director of major issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and monitor spending against budgets.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc analysis requests from Finance and other internal teams.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position or in a Senior FP&A role.
  • Knowledge of SAP is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.
  • Problem-solving orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, mature, independent, and able to prioritize numerous tasks.
