The Sr. Fraud Data Scientist/AI-ML Engineer at Adobe plays a crucial role in detecting emerging fraud trends and automating processes to enhance fraud detection capabilities. The role emphasizes creativity in data visualization, allowing the scientist to effectively communicate findings and strategies to key stakeholders. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for detecting fraud and abuse across multiple platforms and products. They will automate manual workflows to improve efficiency and scale up fraud reviews, investigations, and operational processes. The role requires a deep understanding of data analysis and the ability to enhance tools and processes through technical expertise. The candidate will also be expected to translate investigations and intelligence into root cause analyses, identifying opportunities for scaling fraud detection efforts. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a quantitative field and significant experience in data science, particularly in fraud detection within subscription-based businesses or financial services. They will be proficient in machine learning techniques and programming languages, and possess strong communication and leadership skills to drive alignment on fraud detection strategies across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Detect emerging fraud and abuse across various platforms and products.
  • Automate manual workflows to build efficiencies and scale up fraud reviews, investigations, and operational workflows.
  • Conduct expert data analyses and improve tools and processes through technical expertise.
  • Utilize sound data visualization skills to effectively communicate findings to key partners.
  • Translate investigations and intelligence into root cause analysis to identify opportunities for scale.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • 7 years of proven experience in data science, machine learning, or related roles, with a focus on fraud detection in subscription-based businesses or financial services.
  • Expertise in machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, and ensemble methods.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Strong understanding of big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for handling large-scale datasets.
  • Exposure to using AI agents and LLM (Large Language Model) for any of the projects.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive alignment on fraud detection strategies.
  • Proven track record of leading complex data science projects from conception to production deployment, delivering tangible business value.
  • Experience with fraud detection tools and platforms (e.g., fraud detection APIs, fraud management systems) is highly recommended.

  • Competitive salary range of $94,900 -- $211,000 annually based on location and experience.
  • Short-term incentives in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
