About the position

The Sr. Front End Developer will be a key member of the Digital team responsible for custom building Key's Consumer Online Banking and Mobile Banking applications. This role focuses on managing the design system component ecosystem, guiding engineering efforts, and mentoring team members while ensuring high standards in UI development and collaboration across various teams.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the design system component ecosystem used across applications.
• Guide engineering efforts within the design system and manage the release process across the Digital team.
• Develop UI standards, offer technical expertise, mentor others, and conduct code and design reviews.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment.
• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, solution architects, technical leads, and developers.
• Interpret wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements.
• Embrace established standards and best practices in use.
• Contribute ideas to advance technology within the team.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with team members and report status to scrum masters and technical leads.
• Assist and mentor other developers and adapt to work with team members of various experience levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong understanding of Web Standards and HTML semantics.
• Expert CSS knowledge and experience with BEM or other modular CSS methodology.
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g. Sass or Less).
• Advanced JavaScript knowledge and experience using Angular (or other framework) in a corporate environment.
• Experience creating and using reusable UI components.
• Experience writing unit tests and utilizing automated testing.
• Advanced knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and familiarity with Design and UX guidelines.
• Empathy and good verbal, written, and listening skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience guiding, contributing to, or using a design system.
• Knowledge of Web Components and Typescript.
• Experience with Micro Front-ends and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environments.
• Agile experience and familiarity with GIT and GIT Workflows.
• Experience with hybrid mobile applications (e.g. Cordova).
• Experience in Linux/Unix/Mac OS X based environments.
• Familiarity with Angular CLI, Webpack, Gulp, Docker, Jenkins, Selenium, Swagger, SonarQube, Mocha, Karma, Jasmine.
• Comfortable working with command line tools and scripting.

Benefits

• Base salary range of $77,000 to $143,000 annually depending on location and experience.
• Eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation based on individual and company performance.
