About the position

The Sr. Full-Stack Java Developer role is designed for a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in Java technologies and cloud environments. This position requires a balance of hands-on coding and leadership, focusing on mentoring junior developers while ensuring high-quality software delivery. The role is hybrid, based in Cary, North Carolina, and emphasizes collaboration within an Agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java/J2EE web applications.
• Lead and mentor junior developers in best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues independently.
• Implement and manage REST/SOAP web services and MQ technologies.
• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and management.
• Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
• Conduct unit, system, and stress testing to ensure software quality.
• Optimize application performance and minimize production issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Java/J2EE web development.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as Angular and Spring MVC.
• Hands-on expertise with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or ORM frameworks.
• Experience with SOAP/REST Web Services and MQ technologies.
• Strong understanding of front-end, middle-tier, and backend technologies.
• Expertise with Tomcat servers and deployment processes.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Lambda, CloudFront, EKS, RDS, etc.).
• Proficient in Agile methodologies and version control tools like Git.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.
• AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification.
