About the position

The Sr. Fullstack Software Engineer will join Tesla's Energy Software team, focusing on the software stack for rooftop solar systems. This role involves developing and maintaining software for IoT solar devices, enhancing service team capabilities, and solving end-to-end problems in both embedded and server-side environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software development and a proven track record in delivering customer-facing features and managing technology stacks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software systems for Tesla's fleet of rooftop solar products.
  • Collaborate on design assessments and code reviews, contributing insights to promote quality and innovation while mentoring peers.
  • Develop strategies for deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications, creating processes for seamless deployment and performance tracking.
  • Analyze complex issues related to scalability, reliability, performance, and security, investigating technical challenges and integrating security measures into the development process.
  • Own projects and identify opportunities for operational improvements, streamlining workflows for greater productivity.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and manage new initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Implement rigorous testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and stress testing, to ensure reliability and performance of applications.
  • Maintain and promote the core values of the team, contributing to a positive and productive team culture.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate open communication, ensuring project alignment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience utilizing C#, C, Python or Java to develop and maintain software systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of database design and modeling principles and SQL for efficient and scalable data storage solutions.
  • Proven experience in building scalable systems that handle increased traffic and workload without compromising performance.
  • Understanding of automated testing and deployment processes, familiar with relevant tools and methodologies for seamless integration and continuous improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
