PacifiCorp is seeking a Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst to join our team in Portland, OR. This role is pivotal in performing critical business support functions that encompass geospatial science and analysis, spatial data acquisition, geospatial modeling, database development, data management, and maintaining data integrity. The Senior GIS Analyst will develop geospatial processes and solutions, support various business units utilizing spatial data, and create high-end cartographic products, data extractions, and analytical reports. The primary focus of this position will be on PacifiCorp's renewables business, property-real estate, and wildfire mitigation and response efforts. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of moderately complex GIS processes. This includes sourcing data, data extraction, geospatial analysis, manipulation, transformation, integration, mapping, and GIS application solutions. The Senior GIS Analyst will oversee the preparation of required exhibits for submission to stakeholders and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). They will assist with planning, utility data modeling, site selection studies, site prospecting, facility management, and other business departmental consulting services, supporting asset management. Collaboration is key in this position, as the analyst will work closely with internal company clients to solve business problems using GIS technology and knowledge. They will conduct thorough research and data gathering, interpret data, and present the results of analyses to clients in the form of reports or map products. Additionally, the Senior GIS Analyst will provide guidance and direction to all GIS staff, produce high-end cartographic products for various initiatives, and assist in developing standards and automated processes through project work. As a subject matter expert, they will provide technical oversight and guidance to less experienced GIS agents, direct complex research requests, and develop and maintain operational and procedural documentation. The role may also involve working as a technical or supervisory lead, preparing technical reports, presentations, and implementation plans, and providing executive decision support.
