The Sr. Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst will perform critical business support functions including geospatial science and analysis, spatial data acquisition, geospatial modeling, database development, data management, and maintaining data integrity. This role will also involve developing geospatial processes and solutions, supporting other businesses and business systems utilizing spatial data, and creating high-end cartographic products, data extractions, and analytical reporting. The primary focus will be on PacifiCorp's renewables business, property-real estate, and wildfire mitigation and response efforts. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of moderately complex GIS processes, which include sourcing data, data extraction, geospatial analysis, manipulation, transformation, integration, mapping, and GIS application solutions. The analyst will oversee the preparation of required exhibits for submission to stakeholders and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), assist with planning, utility data modeling, site selection studies, site prospecting, facility management, and other business departmental consulting services. Collaboration with internal company clients to solve business problems using GIS technology and knowledge will be essential. The role requires conducting thorough research and gathering data, interpreting data, and presenting results of analyses to clients in the form of reports or map products. The analyst will provide guidance and direction relative to work assignments to all GIS staff and produce high-end cartographic products for various initiatives, reporting, and public meetings. Additionally, the analyst will assist in developing standards and automated processes through project work, function as a subject matter expert, and provide technical oversight and guidance to less experienced GIS agents. The position may also involve working independently and with project teams to prepare technical reports, presentations, implementation plans, and to develop detailed project deliverables.
