About the position

The Sr. GL Accounting Manager at CBRE is responsible for leading a large team that oversees the financial performance of clients. This role involves managing financial controls, preparing financial reports, and ensuring effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a strong focus on team development, operational efficiency, and strategic financial oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees and monitor their training and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching for team members.
  • Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities, establishing work schedules and assigning tasks.
  • Create a positive customer experience through effective communication.
  • Prepare complex financial statements and approve audit and tax preparation documents.
  • Serve as the point of contact for accounting and reporting systems, providing technical expertise.
  • Assist executive management with strategic initiatives.
  • Review and verify financial information before submission to clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring timely and accurate handling of requests.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic advice to management.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE values.
  • Identify and solve complex technical and operational problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, and performance management is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate the team and achieve operational targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an inquisitive approach.
  • Intermediate math skills for financial calculations.
