About the position

As a Sr. GL Accounting Manager at CBRE, you will lead a large team responsible for overseeing the financial performance of clients. This role involves managing the organization's financial controls and preparing financial reports for management and shareholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and lead recruiting and hiring efforts.
  • Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Create a positive customer experience by maintaining constructive communication and reviewing work handled by junior team members.
  • Prepare complex financial statements and approve audit and tax preparation documents.
  • Serve as the point of contact for implementing and maintaining accounting and reporting systems, providing technical expertise.
  • Assist executive management with strategic department and corporate initiatives.
  • Review and verify financial information including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements before submission to clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring timely and accurate handling of customer requests.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic advice to the executive management team.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, and influence others accordingly.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job subject area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience; a combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive and complicated information and handle performance expectations.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve operational targets across multiple job areas.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive approach.
  • Intermediate math skills for calculating complex financial figures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial reporting and compliance management.
