About the position

The Senior Global Product Specialist at Cardinal Health plays a pivotal role in the Product and Solutions Marketing team, which is responsible for defining marketing strategies and managing products and services throughout their life cycles. This position is crucial for meeting and exceeding revenue and profitability objectives. The team identifies customer needs and executes marketing strategies for assigned portfolios, focusing on pricing, positioning, promotion, branding, and distribution to drive customer loyalty and sales growth. In this role, the Senior Global Product Specialist will lead core product management activities specifically for the Exam Gloves portfolio on a global scale. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to execute strategic business objectives that enable sustainable growth. This includes supporting product lifecycle management activities, developing effective communication methods between various teams, and leading critical revenue-driving projects. The candidate will also become a product expert, understanding end customer clinical practices, patient needs, and global market trends to contribute to the global product strategy. The position requires a strong understanding of marketing and product management disciplines necessary for building business plans, product plans, and marketing plans. The Senior Global Product Specialist will be accountable for translating market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales and profitability. Additionally, the role involves identifying market trends, determining product/service lifecycle implications, and making recommendations to maintain market competitiveness. The candidate will also support the launch of commercial tactics such as collateral development and value propositions, demonstrating strong financial acumen and logical decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support product lifecycle management activities for the portfolio, including key projects or programs, change development processes, and data management.
  • Develop effective communication methods between supply planning, sourcing, and regional marketing teams.
  • Lead critical revenue driving projects and effectively communicate project progress.
  • Become a product expert for all elements of the global Exam Gloves portfolio.
  • Understand end customer clinical practices, patient needs, and global market trends to contribute to the global product strategy for the portfolio.
  • Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of marketing and product management disciplines necessary for building business plans, product plans, and marketing plans.
  • Work collaboratively among cross-functional teams including R&D, sourcing, enterprise marketing, enterprise contracting, strategic pricing, customer service, finance, quality, regulatory, legal, inventory, and regional marketing teams.
  • Translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales & profitability for the business.
  • Identify and remain current on market trends, determining product/service lifecycle implications and making recommendations to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Support and launch commercial tactics such as collateral development and value propositions.
  • Exhibit strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in related field, preferred.
  • Tenacity and willingness to roll up your sleeves and work quickly.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritization to deliver on business commitments.
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Ability to participate in 1 evening call each week.
