About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) at FreeWheel, a Comcast company, you will be part of an agile product and development team, collaborating with various stakeholders to design and implement robust software solutions. Your role will involve understanding product roadmaps, enforcing best practices, and contributing to the full product development lifecycle, all while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring high-quality code delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and contribute to the team's product roadmap, providing technical designs and solutions.
  • Collaborate in defining and enforcing best practices and processes for engineers.
  • Follow the agile Scrum process to ensure timely delivery of work that meets user stories criteria.
  • Build with the tech stack including Go, grpc, Redis cache, MySQL Server, AWS services, Kubernetes, Docker, and more.
  • Present and defend architectural and design choices to internal audiences.
  • Mentor other engineers and help them grow professionally.
  • Work with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 3 years' experience in Software Development; or bachelor's degree plus 5 years' experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Go and MySQL.
  • Strong understanding of OO/SOLID concepts.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, and related ecosystem.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Tilt, Docker, Cypress, and GitHub.
  • Commitment to high-quality, maintainable code with experience in unit testing/TDD practices.

  • Experience in designing, implementing, and shipping rich front-end applications.
