About the position

The Sr. Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer will work closely with the engineering team to design, implement, and manage optimal cloud-based solutions for the company. This role involves planning and developing cloud applications, managing cloud environments, and ensuring adherence to security guidelines. The engineer will also deploy and debug cloud initiatives, employing problem-solving skills to address issues proactively, and will utilize Agile and DevOps methodologies to enhance cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
• Plan, design, and develop cloud-based applications.
• Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
• Deploy and debug cloud initiatives throughout the development lifecycle.
• Employ problem-solving skills to address issues before they escalate.
• Implement DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
• Build a reliable and secure cloud architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Strong understanding of IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience in cost optimization for cloud solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPC, VPN, and firewall configurations.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills at the networking, application, and database levels.
• Experience designing highly scalable, highly available, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures.
• Understanding of load balancers, CDN, clusters, distributed architecture, and container environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and deployment.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Terraform, CI/CD, Cloud Build, and Jenkins.
• Experience migrating applications to Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into technical design documents.
• Experience in cloud/application security.
• Google Cloud Platform Cloud certification.

• Experience in cloud migrations to Google Cloud Platform.
