About the position

The Sr. Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. This role involves building data pipelines, managing large datasets, and developing data warehouse solutions. The position requires a strong background in cloud technologies, data processing frameworks, and programming languages, with a focus on delivering high-quality data products in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform.
• Manage and process large datasets (multi TB/PB scale).
• Develop data warehouse solutions and data products.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform services such as Dataproc, GCS, and BigQuery.
• Model and design schemas for data lakes and RDBMS platforms.
• Utilize programming languages like Python, Java, and Scala for data processing.
• Implement workflow orchestration solutions using tools like Airflow.
• Collaborate in a Scrum/Agile development environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of recent Google Cloud Platform experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with developing data warehouse solutions and data products.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing a distributed data processing platform with Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in modeling and designing schema for data lakes or RDBMS platforms.
• Experience with programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, etc.
• Experience with scripting languages: Perl, Shell, etc.
• Exposure to test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
• Background in Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
