Responsibilities

• Perform grant related post-award functions according to sponsor terms, including budget and expense analysis, invoicing, financial reporting, and re-budgeting.
• Ensure accurate recording of functions into the university accounting system in a timely manner.
• Review current awards for proper assignment of fringe benefits and facility and administrative costs, ensuring correct start and end dates for each project.
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and prepare invoices in a timely manner, following up on cash collections.
• Manage the grant closeout process, including billing, collection, reporting, and data recording into the university accounting system.
• Respond to department questions or requests for information, investigating problems with grant data as needed.
• Provide guidance to departmental staff on SPA grant management procedures and university policies.
• Update and maintain grant reporting schedules, communicating with SPA/PI/Departments regarding report status.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by SPA Manager and Director.

Requirements

• B.A./B.S. required; M.A./M.S. preferred.
• 5-8 years of finance, accounting, or grant administration experience, preferably in an academic or research environment.
• Solid understanding of federal/University grant operations and knowledge of relevant sponsor regulations.
• Strong computer skills, particularly analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
