About the position

Oldcastle APG is seeking a Sr. Graphic Designer to lead creative associates and design efforts across various traditional channels for its brands. This role involves creating and communicating concepts, implementing promotional strategies, and translating ideas into visual expressions while balancing creativity with leadership skills. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand standards are maintained and to inspire creativity within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams with a positive and proactive mindset
  • Present artwork and communicate vision to senior leadership
  • Manage multiple design workflows and deadlines using project management tools
  • Function as a brand steward to maintain brand standards and guidelines
  • Continuously explore industry best practices to maximize creativity and improve efficiencies
  • Design and provide art direction across multiple design disciplines, focusing on print graphics
  • Manage creation of design templates for Bynder modules
  • Support the Digital Design Team with brand work and digital graphics
  • Take ideas from concept to execution by collaborating with Brand teams and production teams
  • Solve challenges through insightful and creative design
  • Develop creative and graphic concepts measured against creative briefs
  • Interact regularly with Creative Director and team members for project completion
  • Seek opportunities for improving efficiencies across Creative Services teams
  • Manage a minimum of one direct report

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, illustration, or industrial design, or related experience
  • 7+ years of experience in graphic design in a branded content, agency, editorial, or marketing environment
  • 5+ years of print-specific graphic design experience
  • Strong conceptual abilities and sophisticated sense of color and layout
  • Excellent knowledge of design, typography, and branding fundamentals
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications on the Mac Platform: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Management of at least 1 direct report
  • Knowledge of InDesign scripting and automations preferred
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate confidently and professionally

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in additional Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as XD or After Effects
  • Experience with Adobe Workfront and Microsoft Teams workflows
  • Experience with creation of Bynder templates
  • Experience with Fiery Digital Print Server outputs
