The Senior Graphic Designer position at Shakespeare LLC in Columbia, SC, is a pivotal role that requires a multi-talented individual proficient in all aspects of graphic design, branding, and communications. This position is responsible for spearheading the design and production of all creative projects, from initial concept and planning through execution and production. The role encompasses both print and digital projects, necessitating excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and a proactive approach. As the thought leader on visual branding and design within the organization, the Senior Graphic Designer will employ current best practices and advise various business units to ensure adherence to company brand guidelines. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the positive image and brand of the company through its creative assets. Key responsibilities include a heavy focus on creating original consumer product packaging and product catalog designs, managing these projects from the initial ideation phases through to final production. The designer will also be responsible for creating and executing graphic materials for point-of-purchase merchandising displays, trade show displays, sales collateral, sales presentations, print and digital advertising, and online product content. Additionally, the position involves planning and producing high-quality product and lifestyle photography content for multiple national and international brands. The Senior Graphic Designer will lead the organization and storage of all content via third-party digital asset management platforms and will create physical mockups for consumer product packaging concepts. The role also includes leading the execution of online content and product merchandising via internal and customer websites, organizing and shipping branded seasonal trade show booths, and developing a thorough understanding of existing product offerings and opportunities. The designer must understand customer and internal brand requirements to maintain brand consistency throughout all projects. Collaboration with the Product Manager in the new product development process is essential to ensure that all creative elements are delivered to suppliers on time for product launches and updates. The Senior Graphic Designer will coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure that projects are completed with the appropriate specifications and quality, while also ensuring that all deadlines are met and that materials created adhere to brand standards. Self-motivation, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the capacity to multi-task on several projects efficiently are critical attributes for success in this role. Furthermore, the designer should be able to develop and maintain sustainable processes for creative requests and project tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of original consumer products packaging and product catalog design, managed from initial ideation phases through final production.
  • Creation and execution of graphic materials for point of purchase merchandising displays (POP), trade show displays, sales collateral, sales presentations, print/digital advertising, and online product content.
  • Planning and production of high-quality product and lifestyle photography content for multiple national and international brands.
  • Lead for storing and organizing all content via third party digital asset management platforms (Dropbox, Brandfolder, etc).
  • Creation of physical mockups for consumer products packaging concepts.
  • Lead for execution of online content and product merchandising via internal and customer websites.
  • Organization and shipment of branded seasonal trade show booths.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of existing product offerings and opportunities.
  • Understand customer and internal brand requirements and maintain brand consistency throughout all projects.
  • Assist Product Manager in the new product development process to ensure all creative elements are delivered to suppliers on time for product launches/updates.
  • Lead corporate branding and branding communication at the office.
  • Coordinate with third party vendors to ensure projects are completed with the appropriate specifications and quality.
  • Ensure that all deadlines are met and that materials created are to brand standard.
  • Be self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and able to multi-task on several projects efficiently.
  • Ability to develop and maintain sustainable processes for creative requests, project tracking, etc.

Requirements

  • Portfolio required with application.
  • Superior skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other professional design tools.
  • 5+ years' experience in graphic design and/or marketing design.
  • BS/BA in design, visual arts, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with design, development, and marketing disciplines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of composition & color.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal/presentation) and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of excelling in a fast-paced environment, maintaining quality and creativity with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects at one time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Packaging and catalog design experience is preferred.
  • Video production experience is a plus.
