About the position

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer specializing in consumer packaging within the CPG industry. This role focuses on creating visually stunning and functional packaging designs that align with brand requirements and drive product success across major retail outlets. The designer will utilize advanced art skills and innovative ideas to produce engaging packaging and merchandising materials across various mediums.

Responsibilities

• Leads and stays current with consumer and market trends for packaging design, materials, and functionality.
• Delivers competitive research and participates in reviews, ensuring solutions align with marketing aesthetics and messaging.
• Creates original visual media that communicates the desired feeling or message in an engaging and unified way, ensuring alignment with brand and production standards.
• Chooses appropriate graphics and images, selects fonts for written copy, and suggests content ideas with product market managers.
• Prepares drafts of design work and physical mockups if necessary, presenting designs to management for approval.
• Collaborates with stakeholders and project participants to understand project assignments, audience, and intended message.
• Manages assigned workload of design projects, interpreting detailed creative briefs and research findings accurately.
• Participates in collaborative revision and approval processes until final design is approved.
• Consults with creative manager, director, and/or other team members on complex or specialized projects.
• Reviews the work of junior designers, providing guidance and feedback when requested.
• Reports to management about the status of current projects and communicates any possible issues.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of package design and brand development in the CPG industry.
• Superior artistic, design, and consumer-focused content skills.
• Extremely proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred, major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.
• At least five years of related package design experience in the CPG industry is preferred.
