About the position

As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Motorola Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative products, specifically focusing on Body Worn Cameras and in-vehicle camera systems. This position requires a deep understanding of hardware development processes, particularly in the realm of image sensors, image signal processing (ISP), and video processing technologies. You will be responsible for the entire hardware development lifecycle, from initial design concepts through to production, ensuring that all products meet the high standards of quality and performance expected in mission-critical communications devices. Your primary responsibilities will include using Orcad for schematic capture and component creation, as well as utilizing Allegro Cadence for board layout and component footprint creation. You will maintain the Allegro Cadence part library and design alternative components to ensure the continuity of production for both volume designs and new developments. A strong familiarity with switching analog power supply design, high-speed digital systems, embedded microcontrollers, system-on-chips (SOCs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and passive components is essential. You will also need to demonstrate a solid understanding of good design practices, particularly in relation to high-speed signal integrity and the coexistence of high-speed digital design with RF technologies. In this role, you will leverage your excellent organizational skills to methodically verify designs using advanced test equipment, ensuring that all hardware meets the required specifications and performance metrics. Your contributions will directly impact the safety and security ecosystem that Motorola Solutions is committed to enhancing, making this a highly rewarding position for those passionate about technology and public safety.
